TBill Finegan is a dedicated public servant, husband, father, and advocate for those who serve. Happily married to his wife, Clare, and the proud father of 10 children, Bill has devoted much of his life to helping others. He serves as a Fire Paramedic Lieutenant with the Philadelphia Fire Department and previously served an enlistment in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Corpsman attached to the Marine Corps. Bill began his career in emergency medical services in the early 1980s. After being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in 1999, he embarked on a long and determined journey to find effective treatment. Over the years, he explored numerous therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, dialectical behavior therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, and other traditional and complementary treatments. Despite years of hard work and perseverance, Bill continued searching for meaningful relief. In 2026, after experiencing a significant worsening of his PTSD symptoms, he was introduced to the Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) procedure and resonant breathing techniques through connections made by his wife, Clare. Following his SGB treatment in June, Bill experienced a profound change in his quality of life, giving him renewed hope for the future. Bill's personal experience has strengthened his commitment to helping Active-Duty Military members, Veterans, and First Responders who are struggling with the invisible wounds of service. He brings to the Honor and Courage Foundation not only decades of experience in emergency services but also the perspective of someone who understands firsthand how difficult the journey to recovery can be. Through his service on the Foundation's Board, Bill is committed to helping others find hope, access effective treatment, and discover that a better quality of life is possible.
